The old chapel, overlooking the Manch Sea, has been turned into a weekend studio.
The clients desired a minimal yet cozy space to stay in during weekends.
Apart from the restoration of the walls and floors, a small yet bold intervention was made by creating a corten steel structure as a tribute to the building's history. This corten surface conceals the toilet on one side and the shower on the other, while also serving as a countertop for the washbasin.
On either side of the entrance, a kitchenette and closets are hidden behind a substantial curtain, which also covers the main door to provide insulation during cold days.
